Respiratory therapists—evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Respiratory therapists evaluate and treat all types of patients; they provide temporary relief to patients with chronic asthma or emphysema and give emergency care to patients who are victims of a heart attack, stroke, drowning, or shock.
Respiratory services are available at LaVerna for our residents with breathing impairments. These services are designed to help control or lessen their symptoms or complications.
Respiratory therapy is a program of exercises and treatments designed to help patients maintain and recover lung function after an illness, injury or surgery. Our respiratory therapists are specially trained to provide respiratory care under the direction of your physician.
